Romanian revelers dance in bear furs in traditional New Year’s ritual
(NECN/AP TV: Comanesti, Romania) - People in the streets of a central Romanian town performed the traditional New Year's bear dance on Wednesday.
Adults and children wearing bear furs and folkloristic costumes paraded in the streets of Comanesti, about 186 miles north of the Romanian capital Bucharest.
They were dancing, playing musical instruments and singing as part of an old traditional ritual performed at the end of each year.
