Sheriff: Charges coming in balloon saga
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - The sheriff who said he believed a couple was being honest when they reported their son was set adrift on a homemade helium balloon now says criminal charges will be filed in the incident.
Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden didn't say Saturday night what the charges would be, but he did say the parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene, aren't under arrest.
The Heenes spent much of the afternoon at the sheriff's office and were headed home where they were expected to speak to reporters.

The husband is scum, and is about as far from a role model as a dad can get. You see his kids sitting there as he lied time and time again. The wife sat in total fear. The wife is no better, but my guess is she is afraid of the husband – he looks alike a wife beater. I am sure all the details will come out. They wanted attention and now the a*****s got it. They should be made to pay for all services this hoax cost. I bet this couple is no longer married a year from now. And, CNN showed what a pathetic network it is. Lastly, I would not be surpirsed if this scum guy gets a TV show and all kinds of other rewards. Talk about a sick country – America is just that – SICK!
