Man shot by police after allegedly attacking officers in Leominster, Mass.
LEOMINSTER, Mass. (AP) - Authorities say a man who walked away from a hospital was shot by police in Leominster after brandishing a knife at officers.
Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. says at least three officers confronted the man around noon Friday near the Leominster campus of UMass Memorial Hospital.
Early says after the man ignored orders to drop the knife police first tried to subdue him with a Taser. When that didn't work, he was shot once.
