Vermont man critical after alleged suicide attempt
BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont State Police says a Brattleboro man is in critical condition after hanging himself in a police department holding cell.
Police say 33-year-old Erich McLellan was charged with aggravated assault Thursday after he allegedly brandished a knife during a confrontation with several people. He was taken to the Brattleboro Police Department where he was placed in a holding cell.
Police say McLellan was later found in the cell hanging from his T-shirt.
Police say McLellan was flown to the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical
