President Obama to meet with Democratic Senators
(NECN/ABC) - With Senate Republicans united in their opposition against the health care bill, the fate of reform is now up to the Democrats.
President Obama called 59 Democratic Senators, as well as Independent Joe Lieberman, to the White House for a meeting Tuesday to resolve their differences.
Democrats thought they had enough votes to pass health care reform, but that changed when Senator Lieberman said he could not support the bill because of the current medicare expansion provision.
